Nam Lik 1-2 Power Corporation holds 2016 Fish-freeing activity
Nam Lik 1-2 Power Co., Ltd. and the Meung Feung county government jointly held a fish-freeing activity in Laos on August 12, 2016. Around 100,000 fish was freed.
From its operation, the Nam Lik 1-2 Power Corporation has been always following the philosophy of attaining coordinated development among society, ecology and economy, as proposed by CTG and CWE, and planned and implemented the basin management and development. The corporation has insisted on fish-freeing activities for 6 years, playing an important role in protecting local aquatic and wild lives.
Ms. Khammeng, Deputy Head of Meung Feung County, attended the activity and spoke high of CWE’s commitments to social and environmental responsibilities; meanwhile, she called on the government officials, army officers and local residents to participate in aquatic lives protection and natural conservation. Ms. Phouthone, Deputy General Manager of Nam Lik 1-2 Power Co., Ltd., also delivered a speech to state that great priority had been given to ecological protection since the Nam Lik 1-2 power station was commissioned in 2010. This activity is a practice to realize aquatic life protection, restore biodiversity and protect ecological balance in the Nam Lik river basin.
Representatives from the Meung Feung county government, Meung Feung Bureau of Agriculture and Forestry, Bureau of Power, Nam Lik 1-2 Power Corporation and downstream villages, around 80 people in total, attended the activity.
