CWE's Technological Innovation Sees New Progress in Hong Kong Project
The Kwai Chung Incineration Plant Demolition and Decontamination Works in Hong Kong was completed at the end of 2012. During and after the project execution, the project team actively developed technical innovations with data collected and summarized. By far, some scientific and technological achievements have been submitted for national patents, representng a new progress made in technological innovation by CWE.
During the 5-year construction, the Project Management reasonably allocated resources and arranged construction progress, applying new techniques and methods like chainsaw cutting method and bio-piles technique, overcoming many technical difficulties, including demolition of high-rise concete structures without blasting, high-altitude operations under Hong Kong’s strict safety and environmental regulations, and purification of soil contaminated by hydrocarbons and heavy metals. With the new techniques and methods applied, working efficiency was raised and project costs were reduced. The project as a whole has brought about sound economic and social benefits.
By well sticking to CWE and CTG’s guiding principle of building an innovation-oriented enterprise by science and technology innovations, the Project Management made a sucessful exploration and implementation in environmental protection and new technologies in Hong Kong.
